Owner/Executive Director

Carla Barrowman

Carla Barrowman is the Owner/Executive Director for Homeplace Support Services. While working on her college degree, Carla taught dance classes and had the opportunity to teach ballet to students in a special education classroom. This experience ignited her passion for working with people with disabilities and defined her professional career path.

Throughout her career, Carla has had the opportunity to support and serve many individuals and families. Beginning her career by providing direct supports to individuals with disabilities allowed her the foundation to be effective in her current role. In 2003, she founded Barrowman Case Management, one of the first independent case management agencies in Kentucky. She has used experiences from each stage of her career to find creative ways to support individuals to help them create meaningful lives. Carla saw that individuals with more intensive behavioral needs experienced many barriers to community inclusion and meaningful lives. With this in mind, Carla purchased Homeplace Support Services in 2008. The purpose of Homeplace Support Services is to provide a home, along with the resources and training to individuals who present with more challenges so that they may have the same opportunities to be successful in their communities.

In addition to her passion for serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Carla enjoys spending time with her three daughters. She is proud of her girls and is especially proud that they are compassionate toward others. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, running, Pilates, and knitting.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Lance Adams

Lance Adams is a Behavior Analyst currently serving Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Nelson, Hardin and Bullitt counties.  He graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a concentration in Social Sciences in 2008, and completed his Master’s In Applied Behavior Analysis at Spalding University in 2011.  Before completing his Master’s degree Lance worked at Our Lady of Peace in Louisville, Kentucky as a direct care professional and Program Specialist for 3 years.  Once he completed his education he joined Homeplace Support Services in 2011.  Lance currently serves client’s from 8 to 60 years of age, with a range of disabilities, including Down Syndrome, Autism, Asperger’s, Fragile X and PTSD.  Lance Adams currently resides in Mount Washington, KY with his wife, Elizabeth, children, Cadence and Landon, 3 dogs and 2 cats.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Cyndy Blackledge

Cynthia (Cyndy) Blackledge has worked in the area developmental disabilities and autism for over 25 years. In 2001 she completed her doctorate in psychology – behavior analysis and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Cyndy has carried out intensive behavioral treatment programs as well as conducted behavior consultations with children, adolescents and adults with varying functioning abilities and diagnoses. Consultations focused on teaching skills such as communication, personal hygiene, independent living skills, socializing with others and going into the community. During her work in applied behavior analysis Cyndy has worked in wide variety of settings: family homes, supported living arrangements/group homes, residential treatment facilities, as well as day treatment programs, clinics and schools. In 2012 Cyndy became a Licensed Behavior Analyst in Kentucky. At this time she is serving Rowan and Carter Counties.

Megan Caperton

Megan received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky and her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Spalding University. She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2010 and a Licensed Behavior Analyst in 2015. During her undergraduate studies, Megan volunteered at the Kentucky Horse Park through CKRH as a side walker to help children with disabilities ride horses. While in her masters program, Megan conducted a feeding study to increase flexibility and compliance with foods in children with autism. Megan enjoys working with individuals of all ages and ranges of behaviors and finds it rewarding to watch them flourish in their skills.  In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and three dogs.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Stan Hankins

Stan Hankins is the owner and president of Lantern Trace Behavior Consulting, Inc. and has worked as a behavior specialist in Kentucky and Indiana since 1992. He received his BA in psychology from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY and his MA in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology in La Mirada California. He completed coursework in behavior analysis and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2012, and became licensed in Kentucky the following year.

Prior to becoming a behavior specialist, Stan worked for several years as a therapist for children, adolescents and their families and taught psychology courses at a community college. He also has several years of experience in the field of substance abuse prevention, specializing in grant writing and assisting community groups and prevention professionals throughout Kentucky with writing grants and raising funds for substance abuse prevention efforts.

Stan currently works as a behavior analyst/consultant primarily in the central Kentucky region and southern Indiana, and serves as a clinical supervisor to several clinicians as well. He lives in Georgetown, KY with his wife and several cats. In his spare time, Stan enjoys playing music, playing sports, and working on home improvement projects.

Janet Morris

Janet Morris serves as Clinical Administrator for Homeplace Support Services. She started her career as a Medicaid Specialist with the Department of Medicaid Services in 2013, but then realized her passion for helping others. In 2014, Janet began working as a Direct Support Professional in a residential setting, taking on a personal and professional responsibility for helping others live their best life. In 2016, Janet became the Clinical Administrator for Homeplace Support Services where she uses her administrative knowledge and direct support skill set to assist in all areas of Homeplace operations.

When not working, Janet enjoys spending time with her family and pets. Janet’s family is active in their community, supporting local events and causes that impact social well-being.
